TAIPEI, October 8, 2009 - Zenitron Corporation (TSE: 3028) posted non-audited consolidate revenue for September 2009 of NT$2.23 billion. It is the first time to hit NT$2 billion on a monthly level this year. Meanwhile, it hit 22-month high in September.
September revenue was up 18% from NT$1.89 billion of August, and up 21% from NT$1.85 billion from a year earlier. The combined consolidate revenue from January to September of this year totaled NT$15.43 billion. In the third quarter, the consolidate revenue was NT$6.04 billion, up 20% from a quarter earlier and up 10.6% in the prior-year period. Also, the third quarter performance hit the second high in history.
Zenitron said record revenue for September was driven by a brisk season for the electronics industry and China’s October 1 holidays (“Golden Week”), which created strong demand for notebook, mobile phone, digital camera, display panel and LCD TV. Therefore, Zenitron’s business did very well with excellent analog IC, discrete, power MOSFET, flash memory card and capacitive touch sensor IC sales.
With more and more application of touch sensing function designed with mobile phones and consumer electronics products, sales of capacitive touch sensor IC is getting higher and has made notable contribution to September revenue. It is expected that capacitive touch sensor IC business will climb up while customer projects are now in mass production phase.
Zenitron will discuss business outlook of the forth quarter at investor conference scheduled on October 20th.
