Gary YY Chou is the Chairman of Zenitron Corporation. He oversees the corporate development strategy and future planning. Zenitron is one of the top 10 IC components distributors in Taiwan.

Before founding Zenitron in 1982, Mr. Chou was the head of Electronics R&D Department at Tatung Company, Taiwan, and he had more than 250 staff worked under his leadership. His leadership was marked by successful efforts to bolster Tatung as the pioneer in Taiwan’s TV market.

During his 14 years at Tatung, he developed the very first - both internationally and domestically - portable black and white AC/DC television. It was the first time that a consumer electronic product was minimized. Around 4-5 million portable TVs were sold worldwide. This worldwide success also benefited Delta Electronics Inc – the components supplier who laid a solid foundation for their later success.

Mr. Chou was trained at TOSHIBA for three months after the launch of mentioned portable TV. At TOSHIBA, he furthered his knowledge and skills by learning the technology of color televisions. He, then, led the Tatung R&D team and launched the first color television in Taiwan.

Mr. Chou holds a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Tatung Institute of Technology. He attended business management program of Asian Institute of Management in Philippines, and received a certificate in management.

Mr. Chou was a lecturer of ‘Television Engineering’ and ‘Graphics’ at Tatung Institute of Technology and at Tatung Industrial Vocational School. He provided guidance to many talents within the electronics industry.
